Fran Drescher seems to have a life that was written by a Hollywood screenwriter. It goes something like: married high school sweetheart, divorced high school sweetheart, discovers ex-husband is gay, becomes best friends with ex-husband.
Interestingly, this bizarre life story is now becoming an actual sitcom! Drescher’s latest project, Happily Divorced, stars the comic actress as a Los Angeles florist who is entering the singles life after discovering her husband is gay after 18 years of marriage.
Drescher admits that while the sitcom is based loosely on her own story, there are still major differences. She admits that she and her ex-husband, also co-producer of the show, Peter Jacobson, had great sex, and his sexual orientation was not what caused their split.
Drescher says that Jacobson was very controlling, but him being gay was just an afterthought. We can’t wait to see the new show!
