Despite the role Gossip Girl actress Joanna Garcia plays on TV, trying to get the juicy gossip about her love life wasn’t so straightforward. The red-haired beauty kept her engagement to Yankee’s player Nick Swisher a secret for at least a few weeks. The former WB star has now confirmed receiving a stunning engagement ring from her baseball-playing beau.

“We kept it a secret for a while,” Swisher commented to the New York Post. “She was wearing that big rock, though.” Swisher and Garcia have only been publicly dating since September, and despite being previously engaged to Justin Timberlake’s business partner, Trace Ayala, Garcia had no hesitation in saying yes to her hunky Yankee’s outfielder.

Swisher referred to his Privileged actress as “amazing” when he recently appeared on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. And it looks like he’s not the only Bronx Bomber dating a beautiful celebrity as fellow teammate Derek Jeter has been cozying up to former Friday Night Lights star Minka Kelly, and A-Rod has been spotted with the likes of Cameron Diaz.
