Cushion Cut Engagement Ring from Adiamor

There’s more than just smog in the air out in Hollywood! Love is all around as celebrities are getting engaged left and right.

Nicole Richie announced her engagement last week on Late Night with David Letterman after the talk show host probed her about the status of her and her baby daddy’s relationship. But the latest young starlet to have a ring slipped on her finger is Disney star Hilary Duff. Her hockey player boyfriend, Mike Comrie, popped the question last weekend in – where else – Hawaii. Not too many points for originality, but he puts his fiance at #1 in our poll.

1. Duff wins hands down, and she would with a diamond that big on her finger. Her NHL beau took a quick trip to Vegas to scoop up a 14-carat Princess cut diamond, worth a reported $1 million.

2. Hockey players must be raking it in these days as Carrie Underwood was proposed to by her hockey hunk, Mike Fisher, who does one over Comrie in the originality department. The yellow diamond ring is a one of a kind by Underwood’s favorite jewelry designer Johnathan Arndt. The exact worth isn’t known for sure, but it’s estimated to be between $150,000-$800,000.

3. Nicole Richie took the situation into her own hands when her rocker boyfriend, and father of her two children, Joel Madden, finally proposed. She comes in third place with a $500,000 4-carat ring she designed along with celebrity jeweler Neil Lane. She’s certainly not living the simple life now as she debuted the diamond on the Late Show With David Letterman.

4. Coming in at 4th place, it’s a three-way tie between three A-List celeb couples, all sporting 3-carat rocks. British funnyman and former bad-boy Russell Brand showed a softer side when he gave fiance Katy Perry her ring, sweetly inscribed with the words, “The one I’ve been waiting for.” His Forgetting Sarah Marshall co-star, Kristen Bell, was seen wearing her ring after comic, and current co-star, Dax Shepard popped the question. The laughs continue as Office star John Krasinski proposed to his lovely British girlfriend, actress Emily Blunt.

5. Rounding out the list is True Blood star Anna Paquin, newly engaged to her co-star, real-life love Stephen Moyer. She also took matters into her own hands by designing a unique rustic diamond engagement ring with designer Cathy Waterman.
