Charlotte Church and Gavin Henson

Wedding bells are ringing for the British singing sensation Charlotte Church. The 24 year old soprano and the hunky rugby player, Gavin Henson, have announced they will be tying the knot “soon”. The two have been dating for over 5 years and have two children together, Ruby, 2, and Dexter, 15 months.

The Ospreys rugby player proposed to the “Voice of an Angel” singer while she was hung-over from a late night celebrating her birthday. Henson arranged to borrow his boss’s helicopter and had it land in the couple’s garden in Vale of Glamorgan in Wales and take the lovebirds to the Nare Hotel in Truro, Cornwall, for lunch by the sea. After lunch the couple took a walk along the seashore. Church reminisced: ‘It was a lovely day and I was with Gav, then he started talking all funny, saying stuff like, “We’ve been together five years now, we’ve had good times and hard times, but it’s mostly been good times and I think we’re meant to be together now for the rest of our lives. Then he went down on one knee and said: ‘So I’d better finally ask you, I suppose.’ Then he said, ‘Will you marry me?’” and presented the singer with a 2 carat heart shaped diamond engagement ring.

When asked about her new bauble Church gushed, “It’s just perfect. I’d always said I wanted a heart-shaped diamond and the boy did GOOD!”
